May God have mercy upon whichever unfortunate fellow decided do prey on Arata's pockets. Arata certainly didn't. If they touched his belongings, they deserved to be admitted to a hospital since they were too stupid and got caught. Alternatively, Arata viewed life in slow motion, so he had very little problem with disabling a person even before their fingers touched the fabric of his pants. Arata wasn't dressed for business today though. He found that if he ditched the suit, he had very little trouble in milling about with others. Granted, he had to act the part as well, but that wasn't much trouble either if he minded his own business and didn't approach anyone else. One glare from him was also enough to chase unnecessary people away from Arata. He wasn't a hooligan either though, and he also figured that most people understood it wouldn't be much fun to bother him anyways. Or at least, not worth the trouble. Thankfully, there weren't many people about since it was raining. It was one notch above a light drizzle. He closed his eyes for a moment, listening quietly to the dim drumming of raindrops. In a sense, this was bliss, and Arata was satisfied with it. notes: yo

It was raining. Again. Hisayuki frowned, pressing his body up against the brick walls of a random shop. Rain wasn't good for business because people stayed cooped up in their houses, like the world was on fire and every speck of rain was acid. Made him all depressed and stuff, especially since today was the day he'd planned to go on a shopping spree, too. It'd been raining for a long time, too! Not just one or two days, but at least a week (never mind that it'd only been three), and the side income he made on top of the boss's pay was dwindling - minimal, to say the least. The coins in his pockets jangled in protest as Hisayuki slapped a hand over them to keep quiet, precociously checking his position so that he was out of viewing angle of the big, glass window. Sometimes shop owners caught him loitering, decided that only shady people did that, and chased him out, which was kind of counter-productive to not drawing attention to himself. Only when he was absolutely certain that there was nobody that could see him did he poke his head out, staring into the crowd of countable heads, little distractions and slippery surfaces that he had to work with. And it was still raining, which meant that his hat was getting soaked. If his hat was getting soaked, that meant that his hair was going to get soaked, eventually. With that thought in mind, as well as the arduous drying process to follow, Hisayuki dug into his pockets, fished out some coins and a crumpled bill before running out, head down like he was in too much of a hurry to see where he was going. Except he did, because some guy had stopped, and was just standing there, eyes closed in the rain. Some people were just unbelievable. notes: we're rping again I can't believe it (also I assumed some things, if its not what arata's doing feel free to pm me and i'll edit).

"... what."Arata decided against listening to his conscience this afternoon. He'd been careless enough to get spotted anyways; he deserved to be noticed. Such would be his punishment. It was sketchy to wear a mask out in the open (that would have probably only attracted even more unwanted attention, so he was left with a bare face. The blond "boy" nearby was treated with a glorious view of the most unamused expression on Arata's face that he could possibly muster. Granted, said "boy" probably wasn't much younger than Arata, and the man did notice that there was something hardened about his face. He too had seen plenty enough in the world around them. Those sorts of people earned a second glance from Arata. "It's impolite to stare, boy."Perhaps he should have left the apartment with his business attire on. He was easily identifiable that way with people who needed to find him. Occasionally, there was the red armband as well, which was easily removable if there were unnecessary people trailing after him. Initially, today had been a day that Arata could relax, one that he had to himself. Only when he took an extra-careful look at the blond did he realize that he had been remiss. A wry grin made its way on his face. "My apologies. Mori Hisayuki, is it? Mind you, I won't be an easy teacher at all."Then again, educators that preferred corporeal punishment rarely were. notes: yeah me neither. I did miss it lol

Oops. There was the biggest no-no out there when it came to doing business: getting caught. Hisayuki stopped in his tracks at the sound of the voice, flailing his arms out a bit as he screeched to a halt, clutching his hat and staring up into the eyes of the man. A man, he realized with a sinking feeling, that had a look that policemen often gave him when they were handing out arrests. A mind reader? Hisayuki gaped, then shut his jaw. " Um, sorry?" He ventured at last, still staring at the man. He didn't look like anything special. Just some normal, rich passerby, and that was why Hisayuki's eyes were drawn to him and not anybody else - yeah, that was it. If he was to run away now, it would look a bit sketchy, and if the guy was going to report him to the coppers, then he might as well wait until they came to make a break for it. But then, the man's expression changed, and he apologized and came out and said Hisayuki's name, too! For a split second, Hisayuki's eyes widened, and he was really quite positive that he'd met with a real, live mind reader when - Oh. It was him. " So...you're not going to report me?" He tried to backtrack. " For staring. I mean - yeah, that's me." Then, with that out of the way, he leaned back on his heels and scowled a little, because now his hat was really wet. " I mean, I don't mind if you're strict and stuff, but I wanna know a lot of things when this is over, okay? And uh, it's not going to be out here in the rain, is it?" notes: \o/

"Of course not." Arata was beginning to wonder if stupid questions were all that were going to be coming out of Hisayuki's mouth. At least it was entertaining, he supposed, and at least he was getting paid for it. The man would have never tutored for free or for a favor. It had become quite painfully obvious that Arata was strapped for funds. Alternatively, this was also an opportunity to rake in gossip about Homra. It was a win-win scenario that the man had been careful to calculate before taking the job. Arata turned on his heel. He'd come prepared, and even prior to meeting Hisayuki, he'd already set up a makeshift classroom. Although his apartment was most likely the ideal classroom, Arata had decided that it would be foolish to lead the blond straight to his residence. He didn't want any unnecessary disruptions or unwanted solicitors. "Follow me," he said, gesturing at Hisayuki, completely ignoring his concerns about the rain. He did not stop until he had reached the edge of the shopping district. Here, he led Hisayuki to an abandoned alley. Fortunately, there was a wide awning that shielded the area from the rain. A collapsible desk and a chalkboard had been set up with boxes of extra erasers and chalk, while set upon the desk was a notebook, a pencil, and a rubber eraser as well. Granted, the whole area was pretty sketchy, but it was private (Arata had his ways of going about things anyways). No one would disturb them here. "Class is in session," Arata stated as he lifted a piece of chalk and began to write on the board. notes: surprise i don't know kanji or japanese so can we just use english orz
