[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:320px; background-color:#f5f5f5; padding:10px;] minoru has been working at this small bookstore for almost two years now,. the vast shelves have shrunk over the years as he familiarized himself with the layout, and he receives a tidy employee discount. none of the books are anything that would help him in his current extracurricular pursuit, but they have been plenty interesting nonetheless.
he finishes logging the last few purchases in the heavy leather book (leather - what a strange sight to see in the modernized shizume city). minoru tucks the volume out of sight and heads back to the front counter. there is no need to stay as attentive on the weekdays; his boss had made allowances after the first year of employment. minoru pulls out his japanese homework and begins to write at the counter. bury your worry or worry your worry tonight |

[atrb=style,padding-left:25px;] ( search & kiss & destroy ) she has nowhere to be, and nobody to see. compared to some things, the life she lives is simple enough, both on the surface and under the veil of what really was. a bookstore is her target today. it has been a while since she's picked up anything new, and the light reading in the corners of the bar became redundant months ago.
takehiko pushes open the door to the tiny place, adjusting her hat and the goggles around her neck as she looks around. the attendant behind the counter instantly became her target. "hey," she says in hopes of claiming attention. "what do you have that's new?" |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:320px; background-color:#f5f5f5; padding:10px;] minoru sets down his homework. he takes one look towards the dusty shelves and smiles ironically at his client.
"as in, something written within the last ten years, or something that has been published recently?"
he could probably interest the customer in a five-hundreth anniversary edition of macbeth, but that might not be what he was looking for. bury your worry or worry your worry tonight |

[atrb=style,padding-left:25px;] ( search & kiss & destroy ) a small smirk pulls at the side of her mouth and she rolls her eyes once. a bit cheeky, perhaps? "is that the span of time it takes to consider something old? learn something every day." her elbow finds a place on the counter, and she leans her jaw into her raised hand. "new as in published recently."
she glances at the papers he'd set down, eyebrows rising with mild curiosity. "student? where at? or do I even need to ask?" most kids didn't have a place in this city if they didn't attend ashinaka. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:320px; background-color:#f5f5f5; padding:10px;] "depends on the reader" minoru replies serenely. "ten years is generally the amount of time that warrants a demotion"
the boy reaches down for one of the store's new shipments, straight from the presses. "five hundreth anniversary edition of macbeth it is. that will be one thousand, five hundred yuan" not too bad, considering the dust jacket.
minoru pauses at the question. "it's usually polite to ask" ashinaka was one of the finer institutions, but there were plenty of public high schools that served the public. of course they weren't privy to the same level of funding and staff, but they served their purpose. "what gave me away? the wages of a bookshop employee aren't that grand" he says it with a tinge of bitterness in his voice. he wishes that he could have paid for school himself instead of relying on scepter4, but that money is something that the bluecoats owed his family.
god knows what else they would be spending it on. outfitting more young people for combat, he imagines. bury your worry or worry your worry tonight |

[atrb=style,padding-left:25px;] ( search & kiss & destroy ) she almost wanted to gag at the price. however, her expression remained neutral as she feigned expressing greater interest than she had in the book. admittedly it was a pretty decent buy, seeing as the pages were lightly ruffled on the edges to give an intentionally worn appearance on top of the outside cover.
perhaps for an avid collector, or somebody that liked ancient-looking books, it was a good steal. for her, though, that much money was better spent on food or something else of the like.
takehiko glanced up again when he spoke, and she gave him a small smirk in spite of the bitterness she thought she'd caught wind of in his tone. "lucky guess?" there was a pause before, "nah. 's just so many people go to ashinaka, it seems, that the place is a safe assumption." |
