CLANS clans are special organizations that are created by kings for their own purposes. they are not required to remain loyal to a king in order to retain power, but affiliation with a king is generally more beneficial than remaining independent. the blue and gold clans are helluva more paranoid of independents. let that be your only warning.
membership to clans are open as long as a king is currently active. however, certain requirements for membership may be enforced, such as age, skills, or the ability to pass a test. these requirements will either never be too difficult to fulfill, or they will fall within the parameters of canon.
dual auras must be bought from the shop and accompanied by in-character justification.

RED homra is a grassroots organization of hotblooded young people who are ruled by a strong sense of camaraderie, especially for its red king. they’re not exactly paid to wreak havoc, but the red clan is a tightly knit family who look out for each other till the end. seriously, if you screw with any one of these guys, you can expect that the rest of the pack will chase you to hell and back.
although the police are plentiful in the uptown area, downtown shizume is mostly secured by the presence of red clansmen. regardless of whether they're working for the general good or profit, it is generally acknowledged that downtown would be a rougher place without the red clan.
their rivalry with the blue clan is the stuff of legend.
the red aurae grants each clansman explosive capabilities in their attacks - quite literally. their abilities tend to be based off of combustion, and while some prefer to keep it that way, other clansmen like to combine their flames with objects or fists for some extra control. those with particularly strong aurae (see: ranked clansmen) can even use it as a protective barrier that scorches flesh - but not quite bone.
the attacking power of red clansmen is raised slightly whenever the red king has his or her sanctum in effect.
entrance into the clan is relatively simple. while the red king is bathed in his or her aura, potential recruits only have to shake the king’s hand. the unworthy will be left with some extremely nasty burns, while suitable applicants will be branded with the flame tattoo that will forever mark them as one of homra’s own. it’s only a rumor, but it seems that the flame only accepts those who are capable of great personal loyalty.

BLUE scepter4 is the common name for the blue clan, a police organization that was chartered by the original gold king. its sole purpose is to guard shizume city against other clansmen and strains. all other crimes - even murder cases - are to be left to the local police. scepter4 is rather bureaucratic in its organization and functions much like any other executive force. unlike other policemen, however, the blue clan seems to exert some influence over the prime minister himself.
in extreme cases, they may even operate above the law. the yuishiki system is a system employed by scepter4 that allows them to bypass privacy laws under the highest issue of “royal blue”. this is one of the best kept secrets from the public, and for good reason. when pursuing a high-level target, the system allows the blues to tap into every cellular device and camera in the city. their disdain for homra seems to be generations old, although few understand why.
every member of scepter4 is equipped with a saber by their left hip, and regular training in the headquarters’ dojo is mandatory. although the blue aura boosts their piercing ability, it also provides some natural defense against aura-based attacks. as potent as they are, the sabers are usually locked into their sheaths, and they are only permitted to draw them on official authorization. however, clansmen can also unlock their sabers by declaring an emergency battle. the time of the incident will be logged electronically, and those who abuse this privilege will be punished accordingly. it is also interesting to note that it has been a scepter4 tradition to name their sabers.
the defensive abilities of blue clansmen are raised whenever the blue king has activated his sanctum.
all applicants into scepter4 must be of a reasonable age. they must also pass a written civil service exam and a physical. prior swordsmanship experience is nice, but not required. the king’s power is distributed rather systematically through a handshake, but it is said that those who enter the blue clan are usually people who have something important to protect.
